The Vietnamese Women’s Association of Toronto’s Leader Maker Microgrant Program will empower newcomer and visible minority youth with the resources, training and support to create interesting meaningful projects that serve to increase inclusivity and/or youth resiliency in their communities.

The project’s specific objectives are to:

·         Finance 4 youth-led (aged 16-29) community service projects that support the needs of newcomer and immigrant families and their descendants (2 already completed in the last cohort); 

·         Train and mentor our youth and to equip them with the skills and tools to effectively collaborate and achieve project success; and

·         Serve 100 community members through community service projects.

In order to be an “eligible participant,” an individual must be both:

·         A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or has been granted refugee status in Canada

·         At least 15 years of age upon starting participation in the program and no older than 30 years of age at time of application.  

Due Dates:

·         Applications for the 1st Cohort CLOSED

·         Applications for the 2nd Cohort due October 22, 2023 at midnight

Applicants are to answer the following questions:

·         Brief Project Description

·         What activity are you proposing?

·         What are the goals or impact of that activity?

·         What steps will you take to carry out that activity?

·         What are the specific outcomes you desire when the activity is completed?

·         How do you propose to spend the money?

·         How will you evaluate the activity, to see how well it has achieved its goals?
