Summer Camp

2022 was the first year VWAT Family Services re-launched our Summer Camp since the start of the pandemic. 

We are so grateful to our volunteers whom without their help, camp would not have been possible. They worked tirelessly for 2 weeks to make sure campers were safe and having fun. A special shout out also goes out to our office volunteers who made sure campers were properly signed in and out, and most importantly, thank you for preparing daily snacks for our campers.

The children had lots of fun connecting with one another through games, visits to the Royal Ontario Museum, Ontario Science Centre, the Museum of Illusions, as well as through rock climbing, bowling, beach days, movie days, time at the park and pool, and last but not least our day at Happy Kingdom!

The campers were a joy to engage with and they were very creative! Staff were very impressed with the origami skills of some of our campers, which included folding paper into dragons and scorpions!

We would also like to thank Fresh Air Fund for their grant, which allowed us to make camp more accessible to our families. 

We look forward to bringing back this fun program in the future, and wish all our campers a safe and fun rest of the year!
