The festivities kicked off with a buzz of activity as dedicated volunteers joined forces to set up and decorate the venue. Anticipation hung in the air as a long table laden with a delectable array of food and refreshments took center stage. Eager youth volunteers manned various food stations, ready to serve our valued guests.

The event officially commenced with inspiring remarks from our esteemed Executive Director and Board Members. Gratitude flowed as they acknowledged the hard work of staff and volunteers, extending a warm welcome to our cherished guests.

Highlighting the extraordinary talents within our community, a lively karaoke session unfolded, featuring a diverse lineup of singers sharing their love for music. Dazzling dancers and musical artists showcased traditional art forms, captivating the audience with their performances.

The anticipation for the culinary journey was met with a plethora of choices at the food stations, emphasizing traditional dishes that left everyone with satisfied smiles and full bellies. The seamless distribution of food added to the overall enjoyment of the day.

The fun continued as a large group engaged in entertaining games, expertly facilitated by our very own director, Mr. Vinh Truong. Laughter echoed through the park as prizes were awarded, creating unforgettable moments of joy.

The culinary competition showcased the best of our community’s culinary prowess. Mrs. Trần Thị Vi claimed the top prize for her exquisite bánh dầy, a traditional Vietnamese cake. Her victory added an extra layer of sweetness to an already delightful day.

On behalf of organizers, we send out a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and participated. The communal spirit that enveloped us during the celebration is a testament to the unity that defines our community. Special appreciation is extended to the Government of Canada’s Canadian Heritage branch and the Celebrate Canada Program for their generous support, reminding us of the blessings of living in the multicultural mosaic that is Canada!

Multiculturalism Day was more than just an event; it was a celebration of unity, diversity, and the shared joy that comes from embracing each other’s cultures.
