Thu Le is a dedicated Seniors
Program Coordinator at VWAT, with an impressive decade of service.
Characterized by enduring enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility, Thu
has demonstrated a deep understanding of seniors’ diverse needs since her early
days at VWAT.
With a background in
elementary education, Thu seamlessly transitioned into her current role,
leveraging qualities and skills honed during her 20 years in the classroom
guiding young minds. Now the heart and soul of VWAT’s Seniors Program, her
exceptional patience, empathy, adaptability, and resourcefulness shine in her
coordination of meaningful activities, aiming to enhance the well-being of as
many seniors as possible.
Recognizing the prevalent
issue of income instability among seniors, Thu consistently seeks ways to
alleviate their financial burdens. This includes assisting with applications
for subsidized housing, Old Age Security, Guaranteed Income Supplement, Canada
Pension Plan, Ontario Electricity Support Program credits, and tax credits. She
is a warm-hearted presence profoundly valued by the seniors she supports.
Beyond organizing seniors’
activities, Thu also serves as the initial point of contact for visitors to
VWAT. Managing intake, she gathers information about clients’ needs to ensure
they receive appropriate assistance. Additionally, she aids job seekers by
scheduling appointments with employers and providing guidance on navigating the
Canadian labour market.
Driven by genuine compassion,
Thu approaches her work with heartfelt dedication, always striving to uplift
the community she serves. She stands as a beacon of commitment, tirelessly
working to create a world where community members thrive, finding joy in every
moment.
