40th Anniversary Gala
Happy Birthday VWAT Family Services!
On October 15, 2022 the Vietnamese Women’s Association of Toronto o/a VWAT Family Services hosted our 40th Anniversary Gala!
We were joined by over 200 guests and the evening was a celebration of our community and all we have accomplished.
As we reflected upon our well-earned achievements, we thanked our altruistic founders who themselves endured immense hardships while striving to resettle in a new country. The foundation that was laid to create a support group for members, while at the same time extending a helping hand to vulnerable individuals in the community, has allowed VWAT to thrive and expand our services to address the needs of newcomers from all cultural and social backgrounds.
On this special occasion, we gathered to celebrate our achievements, reaffirm our commitment and look forward to the future as we continue our work to integrate refugee and immigrant families into Canadian society.

We were treated by a special cải lương performance: Hoạt Cảnh Tiếng Trống Mê Linh.
Cải Lương is a type of performance that incorporates traditional chamber music that originated in Southern Vietnam and is a form of modern folk opera.
A special mention goes to Mr. Ray Nakano and his wife Mrs. Phuong Lan Nguyen for bidding and winning our diamond ring auction! We hope Mrs. Phuong Lan will get to enjoy this beautiful piece of jewelry on countless special occasions in the future.
