Basic Digital Literacy is a free program designed for vulnerable newcomer women who want to develop their basic digital competencies necessary to access remote settlement services and succeed in the Canadian workplaces. The main purpose of this program is to teach fundamental digital literacy skills to newcomer women who would benefit from participating in the digital economy. These participants will actively use these skills in the job search and employment. The program also provides job search assistance through the VWAT Employment Services. 

Target Audience: 

  • 35-40 unemployed women who landed within the last 5 years              
  • Women with little English proficiency (those CLB levels lower than 5 can still join with counsellors’ help)
