VWAT Family Services is very grateful for the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and its funder, the Government of Ontario, for investing in our project to safely open our office and to build resiliency following the pandemic.
With the fund, we were able to reintroduce onsite group programs, especially for our seniors who are not technology-literate and wanting to learn, and for our youth who are desperately needing social, in-person interactions for their well-being.
The project funds allowed us to install automatic door openers, touchless water dispensers, and touchless faucets. We also purchased touchless trash cans, and enough personal protective equipment and hygiene products for all staff and volunteers.
We created new health and safety control practices and trained all staff on new protocols to ensure adherence.
Our goals to ensure inclusive and equitable access to our on-site services, while making sure we have the proper infrastructure, equipment and supplies in place to for health safety and minimal transmission were met.
Again, we are grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Government of Ontario for their support. We are happy to be able to safely deliver our programs and services, and to adapt to new ways of working in order to continue serving our clients and building vibrant communities.
